Golden Half Camera

Rabbit bought me this little wonder for Christmas. It is fun and am waiting to develop my first roll. It takes two pictures per frame effectively stretching your dollar by doubling a roll of film. It turns 24 exposure film into 48. It can handle a 36 exposure roll so I get 72 pics out of one roll. As you can see it is very small yet even has a hot shoe attachment. Flash was not included but I have my own. I am excited about seeing the results.

Van-tastic

I miss full sized vans. Had one like this as a kid we took across country. It was refitted inside with two sleeping compartments. It took my step-father, mom, cat and I from Connecticut to San Diego, CA. Pretty damn cool. Someday I hope to cross country with my own family.

Feeling Viking

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sister and my brother
Lo, there do I see the line of my people
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them
In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever.

I just love Vans, in particular the VW. Whenever I see one, I get excited like a little kid. Saw this one on H1 Westbound. Have to thank T'okki for taking the photo.

I like the light in this picture I took while on my morning walk.

Nice little sporty

Saw this fun little Sportster at Ward last weekend. I like the touches.

Little goat found

Saw this little nanny goat at the top of Pacific Palisades last weekend. The little natural lawnmower kept that lawn nice and trim.

I am thrilled with the idea of getting my antique Canon camera fixed. If I am lucky it is a quick fix and it will be up and running for the weekend!

Smokin Bob's BBQ

Went to Smokin Bob's BBQ in Kaneohe near Windward Mall yesterday. It was awesome. This is the 3 choice combo plate. Large enough to feed two. I really recommend the chicken, but it was all tasty. They have Southern Sweet Tea as well. Please try and help a local business out at the same time.

Slow ride....take it easy...

Saw this a few weeks ago at a Camaro show at Ward Centers. I was having daydreams about this immediately.

Sweet ride

Maybe someday I will have a bike as sweet as this. Sugar Bear's bikes rock.

Maunawili Falls

Went on the Maunawili Falls hike. Supposed to be "easy" 1.5 mile stroll according to a website, but was more of a mud pit. I think I nearly dehydrated as my clothes we soaked with sweat. It took over 2 hours easily to complete.

Bike Found

Saw this bad boy outside Long's. A friendly person, the rider approached and let me know that this old Harley was '66 engine (shovelhead ?) on a '57 frame. He told me had only rebuilt it once. I was amazed that he kicked started it in one shot. What a character. I would like to cruise with him sometime.

Kamananui Valley

Took a hike at the end of Moanalua valley. We did not finish the entire route. We did about an hour in to the trail. It is really amazing and I would recommend trying it out. Take plenty of water.

Romy's Kahuku Shrimp

Saturday we went over to Kahuku to have some home grown goodness. We had plates of spicy prawns and shrimp. Tasty, but once you get going, you do not want to stop. I liked Romy's. Be sure to go before you are actually hungry because it takes time to prepare that goodness.

Kapiolani Park

Went to the Korean festival this past Saturday. I will try to post more pics later but the first I have available are these of the little ducks in the pavilion pond. They were very entertaining. The mother was lounging under shade from a statue will the ducklings swam like a school of fish.

Wiener mobile comes to Hawaii

I was driving down H1 and saw the weenie mobile on the move. My digital camera batteries were dead, but I was able to capture it with my Lomo camera. To bad this one was black and white.

Someday soon I will have one of my own

Haute Dogs

Ate at this nice place in Kaka'ako area. They serve gourmet sausages and dogs. The fries were AWESOME too because they are twice cooked which makes them the right crispy yet soft. On the left is a chicken sausage with fresh mango topping. On the left is the andouille sausage with cajun mustard and sauteed onions. Spicy but delicious. I recommend, but bring cash. [picture taken with a red filter]

Honolulu Zoo

Went to the zoo this weekend before the new city fees will raise the price to go. It was incredibly hot in the park, but the animals were surprisingly lively. Normally when we go, they are sleeping and avoiding the midday heat. I like the contrast of the condo with the zebra.

Song stuck in my head

Really customized

Saw this one the other day. Not my style but I can sure appreciate the work that when into it. Notice the glass handle tank shifter and the large horns near the passenger pegs.

Kamehameha Day

Recently we had Kamehameha Day, but being a Thursday they had the parade on Saturday. We tend to skip the long parade in the hot sun. But we do like to see the statue in downtown covered in leis afterward.
