Lil' dune buggy

We went to the New Car Expo in Honolulu yesterday. They lay out all the new cars by brand for everyone to see with less sales pitch than a dealer. My favorite part was the classics that fill the outer corners of the hall. This time they had classic Chevys, Mustangs and really antiques from the 1920 and earlier. The best part for me was the original Mini Cooper Collection and the Volkswagens. Someday I will get my stuff togeather and get a VW. This time the one that really caught my eye was the Meyer Manx dune buggy.

This display was great. They had the whole camper laid out like it was already on a campsite.

This one look like it had been to hell and back. The left alone patina was something and the luggage was antique too.


The camera could not capture how awesome this paint job was.

I really like this helmet. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could find this in a legal DOT model. Awesome color!

Saw this one on the UH Campus on Sunday. I like the Polynesian Fishhook Motif. Believe this is the Westphalia model.

Black Bug Cruiser

Saw this VolksWagen in the Costco parking lot. I like the concept and the white lines are pinstriped, but the black paint was not so hot close-up I did not see a clear coat. Beetles with luggage racks are awesome.

One of the things I want when the fit hits the shan

This thing is awesome! I bet that if any of those apocalypse stories comes true, the owner will drive away no problem. Probably has power nothing. Just fuel and go. I would love one of these on my family farm.

650cc Cafe Racer

Took my motorcycle into the shop for routine maintenance and saw this 650cc Cafe Racer outside awaiting parts. Kawasaki maybe?

The handlebars are one of my favorite parts. Like to meet the owner for a beer and find the story behind this bike.

Van-tastic

I miss full sized vans. Had one like this as a kid we took across country. It was refitted inside with two sleeping compartments. It took my step-father, mom, cat and I from Connecticut to San Diego, CA. Pretty damn cool. Someday I hope to cross country with my own family.

Ford Truck

Saw this nice Ford truck at the local shopping center one morning. I really like the touch on the tail lights. Wish we made this sort of quality today.

I just love Vans, in particular the VW. Whenever I see one, I get excited like a little kid. Saw this one on H1 Westbound. Have to thank T'okki for taking the photo.

Saw this fun little Sportster at Ward last weekend. I like the touches.

Saw this little guy the other day. A Yamaha 125cc DT. Looks like a lot of little fun in the city. Bet it gets 90 mpg.
